Riverside Golf Club News
We had 39 for bistro last week and half of them were visitors and some great feedback was received. Well done Michael H. Also don’t forget take-aways are still ongoing.
Our lost property bin is overflowing at the moment. I’d like to get it all cleared up in the next couple of weeks, so check it out if you have lost something in the last 12 months. It’s situated next to the entry to the men’s locker room downstairs.
The club has been successful in gaining a small Federal Government grant . This money is to encourage more participatation of volunteers in the club and accordingly this money will be spent on personal protective equipment and tools. So look out for our local politicians here at the club, this Thursday at 9am, meeting with our team of volunteers.
From our Club Captain: Mark Poulson
Can I please ask that everyone plays ready golf especially morning tee times. Over the last couple of weeks there has been slow play in the morning which then cascades into afternoon, meaning that some players are coming back in the dark. Ready golf means when you get to your ball, play it as quickly as you can if it safe to do so. With a partner’s lost ball, If your ball is on the opposite side of the fairway then you should hit your ball first and then help look for the lost ball. You can wait for each other on the tee and on the green, there is plenty time to chat there and of course in the bar afterwards. Pay close attention to the time on the top left hand corner of the app, it should be a positive number, each time you put a scores in for a hole it will adjust and let you know how long you have to play the next hole, if the time looks unrealistic that means you are playing slow and its time to catch up.
Starting this week we will be reintroducing nearest the pins, second shots, rakes in bunkers, and the ability to remove flags from holes. Don’t forget social distancing and basic hygiene practices please. Details to follow shortly.

Solid numbers last week which included quite a few non- members. Please suggest an RGC bistro meal to your family, neighbours and friends. All are welcome. Thank you.
Don’t forget this Wednesday Pizzas are back, please let me know if you’re coming in for a bite, it helps with preparation.
